GENESIS AND AIMS

The origins of the Association Togolaise des Volontaires au Travail (ASTOVOT) date back to the year 1957 with the institutionalisation of VAT (Volontaires Au Travail). ASTOVOT is a non-political non-profit association. ASTOVOT organises international work camps for short, middle and long term projects. These projects focus on the self-support of local communities by offering a framework for international solidarity. ASTOVOT aims to contribute to the development of services of general interest, to improve the life conditions of local communities and to favour mutual comprehension between people living in distant countries.
GLOBAL VISION AND MISSION

The global vision is to make ASTOVOT a viable, credible institution and a partner in local durable development. ASTOVOT relies on qualified, motivated, and dedicated young people to contribute to its activities on the basis of voluntariate and goodwill. The activities aim to favour the living conditions of local communities by:
- promoting a general sense of goodwill among the young participants of the association
- meeting the needs of vulnerable local communities
- developing the skills of the available human resources by means of training sessions

- initiating exchanges with other actors sharing the same vision
